POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Head of Product Management for the Research line of business. Research provides a comprehensive range of information products to top banking firms and is built on a foundation of comparative analytics and data-driven business intelligence.

 

Reporting to the Managing Director of Research line of business, this position is a senior-level role providing leadership for the Research product portfolio. This person is responsible for identification, development, marketing, and execution of an overall product roadmap that reflects the overall corporate strategy.

Internally, this role will lead the Product Management team and collaborate with the Product Development, Data Management & Analytics, and Client Delivery teams to drive product progress, client acceptance, and sales growth. The role requires extensive interface with clients and market participants to inform and drive product requirements and strategy. Ultimately, this person must ensure products are compelling and demonstrate value to the customers and the market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build upon and manage an end-to-end product road map. Identify and prioritize areas of focus. These areas generally promote innovation and help seed the next generation of products.
  • Lead the Product Management team who is responsible for assessment and analysis of market conditions, competitors, industry trends, market requirements and opportunities.
  • Manage overall portfolio vision and execution for research platforms including internal platform functionality needs to build and scale programs/products and external platform functionality used to deliver and enhance client adoption of the research programs.
  • Manage overall portfolio vision and execution for the research programs/products including portfolio of comparative benchmarking, licensed data solutions and SaaS based products.  
  • Develop and lead a plan for product innovations, enhancements and product development including product and pricing strategies.  
  • Communicate across teams and other functional areas including IT, Data Management & Analytics, and Client Delivery to coordinate program launches, marketing and delivery.
  • Lead teams and contribute directly to product priorities through agile project management.
  • Manage and incorporate customer feedback and input to drive program value and effectiveness by leading formal customer steering committees, direct customer interaction and in cooperation with client engagement teams. 
  • Represent the company’s research as a thought leader in the Fintech and Financial Services industries through speaking engagements, press interviews, and byline articles.

PREFERRED PROFILE:

  • 5-10 years of product, project and people management experience in the data analytics industry. Experience in financial institution business intelligence, competitive intelligence or marketing research a plus.
  • 5 years of Product Owner, Product Management, Project Management leadership experience in large agile software development projects.
  • Extensive client-facing experience, preferably with banking related clients.
  • Transformation leadership experience with the ability to develop process within unstructured environments. Strong sense of ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to think strategically and execute with a strong results orientation. Demonstrated success creating a positive, highly motivated work environment through team building and individual interaction.
  • Highly organized, planning and process orientation with strong project management skills.
  • Client focus with a demonstrated ability to anticipate and meet external client needs in a timely manner.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quality of work/productivity – thoroughness and accuracy of work performed.
  • Display an attitude of pride, accountability, and ownership in daily activity.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive on challenge and drive innovation to implementation in a team environment.
  • Lead cross functional teams to develop and implement a strategy around product development, management and delivery including action steps and success requirements.

LOCATION: Preferably Chicago but can be Remote
