POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Insurance Program Manager, you will be a key player in shaping and overseeing a comprehensive employee benefits programs as well as commercial/business insurance. This strategic role involves designing, implementing, and managing innovative insurance solutions that align with the organization’s goals.

You’ll leverage your deep understanding of the insurance industry to optimize offerings, negotiate with providers, and ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality coverage. Working closely with HR, Compliance, and leadership teams, you’ll analyze data trends, stay abreast of regulatory changes, and make recommendations to continually improve the benefits strategy. Your expertise will be crucial in educating employees about their benefits, managing open enrollment processes, and serving as the go-to resource for benefits inquiries, claims, and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of the corporate insurance program and the various lines of insurance including handling claims, renewal of policies, and management of key insurer/broker/TPA relationships.
  • Manage insurance procurement in conjunction with third party brokers, develops, designs, and implements risk management and compliance policies/procedures.
  • Manage relationships with third party service providers including brokers, underwriters, and other third-party administrators.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding selection of carriers and policies, including but not limited to: Employee Group Benefit/Health & Welfare Plan, Profit Sharing & Savings Plan, Property, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Professional E&O, Directors and Officers, EPLI, Fiduciary, and Cyber-risk policies.
  • Coordinate the development of application submissions, as necessary, including the gathering of insurance policy renewal data from various departments.
  • Coordinate with VP Human Resources and Chief Compliance & Risk Officer regarding incident reports and claims or losses.
  • Perform risk management / insurance related due diligence on mergers, acquisitions and divestment.
  • Coordinate with Litigation Team for all litigated matters.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement standards, processes, and best practices related to insurance and risk management.
  • Identify potential risk exposures, recommends solutions, implements approved programs, promotes loss prevention, and updates and monitors compliance.
  • Oversee all phases of the claims process.
  • Manage the workers’ compensation and incident reporting program with the appropriate members of the HR team.
  • Review contracts and policies for accuracy in rates, coverage, limitations and signatures. Deliver to client or broker when necessary.
  • Lead development of Executive summary and leads presentation for all insurance renewals and annual enrollment for employee benefits.
  • Enter plan changes into HRIS system for Annual Enrollment of employee benefits.

  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of insurance types, language and terminology.
  • Strong knowledge of self-funded/stop loss market as well as level and fully insured
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in insurance related position.
  • Experience with insurance including E&O, D&O, Property, Crime, Cyber and Workers Compensation.
  • Experience with self-funded insurance, including claims reporting, regulatory findings and audit preferred.
  • Strong with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • PBM experience is a plus.
