POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The qualified candidate will have experience with database systems, Azure cloud storage, and significant experience with modern big data processing tools such as Spark, Hadoop, and Databricks. Candidates will be expected to design and implement data solutions that use the following Azure services: Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Databricks. Join a team of top-notch engineers and architects and work on cutting-edge technologies, including the latest web-based UI tech (including Angular), data analytics (Microsoft Fabric), and AI (Azure Cog Services, LLM, and more)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work hands-on to architect, code, and support elastic, resilient, and self-healing cloud applications using key platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Fabric
  • Build environments for ingesting, conditioning, and storing raw data, utilizing Azure Data Lake Storage
  • Implement data warehouses as part of a modern data warehouse (MDW) design
  • Utilize tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, or Azure Stream Analytics to perform data orchestration and transformation
  • Data model schema design and implementation for both OLTP and OLAP data stores, system requirements, architecture, and APIs
  • Understand and integrate historical and real-time data streams, including geospatial and sensor data from a full suite of wireless tracking and sensing devices
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the product and software development lifecycle
  • Support proofs-of-concept, demonstrations, product testing and QA
  • Actively participate in team meetings, daily scrums, and customer-facing meetings
  • Ensure cost optimization of Azure cloud services

PREFERRED PROFILE: 

  • Expert knowledge of relational database technologies, including enterprise experience
  • Expert experience with SQL  Expert experience with organizing and using Microsoft Fabric / Azure Data Lake Storage
  • Expert experience with Azure SQL Data Warehouse and Azure SQL Server offerings
  • Experience setting up and using Azure Data Factory v2  Experience with CosmosDB
  • Experience with Azure Databricks and Spark  Experience with other NoSQL storage, document databases, and graph DBs is a plus
  • Experience with Azure Stream Analytics is a plus  Experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, and Event Hubs is a plus
  • Minimum five years of experience in Azure software development and DevOps
  • Deep hands-on technical knowledge of Azure architecture and services
  • Experience working with Single Sign On, SAML, oAuth 2, Active Directory, TLS, and network protocols
  • Demonstrated experience in SOA, Microservices and API Management and Governance
