POSITION OVERVIEW:

The IT Manager leads the general Business Analysis team while directly supporting cross-functional technology initiatives across the company’s platform organization. This role is accountable for the quality and timely delivery of Business Analyst work, including project analysis, business and functional requirements, stakeholder alignment, documentation, and implementation support.

The IT Manager also manages assigned projects and works closely with Product, Project Management, Technology, Infrastructure, Release Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, Client Success, Sales, clients, and external partners to keep initiatives organized, visible, and progressing efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring current people-management experience, strong business analysis capabilities, sound project-management discipline, and clear, professional communication with both internal and external parties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Analysis Team Leadership

 

Manage, coach, and develop a team of Business Analysts, establishing clear expectations for ownership, quality, timeliness, and communication.

Oversee and balance the team’s portfolio of initiatives, including:

  • Work assignments and capacity
  • Priorities, timelines, and commitments
  • Requirements quality and completeness
  • Risks, dependencies, and escalations

Review work products, provide actionable feedback, and hold team members accountable for agreed-upon deliverables.

  • Support onboarding, performance management, professional development, and succession planning for the Business Analysis team.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

 

Perform hands-on Business Analyst responsibilities for assigned initiatives, including:

  • Discovery and stakeholder interviews
  • Current-state and future-state analysis
  • Business, functional, integration, and data requirements

Translate business objectives and technical constraints into clear, complete, testable requirements and acceptance criteria.

Facilitate scope definition, process analysis, impact assessment, solution discussions, and requirements validation.

  • Maintain traceability from business need through development, testing, release, and post-production support.

Project Coordination & Execution

Lead or coordinate assigned projects and cross-functional initiatives from discovery through implementation.

Establish and maintain:

  • Project plans and delivery timelines
  • Task ownership and action items
  • Decisions, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Status reporting, risks, and issue escalation
  • Facilitate productive meetings, drive follow-through, and ensure communication remains clear and organized across teams.

Product, Technology & Release Coordination

Partner with Product, Engineering, QA, Release Management, Operations, and Support teams to support:

  • Scope and requirement readiness
  • Development and testing coordination
  • Release readiness, implementation, and production monitoring
  • Maintain alignment between business objectives, technical delivery, operational readiness, and committed timelines.

Stakeholder, Client & Partner Communication

 

  • Serve as a credible point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and integration partners.
  • Communicate complex business and technical topics clearly, professionally, and at the appropriate level for the audience.
  • Set expectations, document decisions, address concerns, and escalate risks in a timely and constructive manner.

Documentation, Tools & Operational Visibility

 

  • Maintain accurate, accessible project, requirements, process, and operational documentation within Jira and Confluence.
  • Use Jira, Confluence, Atlassian Product Discovery, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve visibility and consistency.
  • Establish practical standards for work intake, requirements, status reporting, knowledge management, and delivery governance.

  • Predictability of project execution and accuracy of stakeholder reporting
  • Early identification and effective management of risks, dependencies, and scope
  • Stakeholder, client, and partner confidence in communication and delivery
  • Consistency and adoption of Business Analysis, project, and documentation standards

Operating Model

Does

 

  • Directly manage the Business Analysis team and remain accountable for the quality and delivery of its work
  • Personally draft requirements and perform analysis for assigned initiatives
  • Lead or coordinate projects, maintain delivery visibility, and drive action-item follow-through
  • Represent IT professionally in internal, client, and partner discussions
  • Escalate material risks, resource constraints, conflicts, and blockers when necessary

 

Does Not

 

  • Unilaterally define enterprise or product strategy outside established governance
  • Replace Product, Engineering, QA, Operations, or executive ownership of their respective decisions
  • Commit organizational resources, contractual terms, or delivery dates without appropriate alignment and approval
  • Manage Senior Business Analysts

PREFERRED PROFILE:

  • Current people-management experience, including coaching, performance management, workload planning, and team development
  • Demonstrated Business Analysis experience producing high-quality business and functional requirements for complex technology initiatives
  • Strong project-management, facilitation, organization, critical-thinking, and written and verbal communication skills; experience engaging clients or external partners is strongly preferred
