IT Manager – Quality Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:
IT QA Manager is responsible for modernizing and leading the company’s quality assurance strategy across its rapidly evolving proprietary platform.
Historically, the organization’s QA capabilities have been driven heavily by subject matter expertise and manual validation processes. This role is responsible for evolving the organization toward a more scalable, technically mature, and automation-driven quality engineering model while preserving the valuable business and platform knowledge already established within the team.
This role will lead the transformation of quality assurance into a proactive, measurable, and integrated function that supports rapid platform releases, production stability, compliance readiness, and long-term platform scalability.
This role will work closely with Product , Engineering , Release Management , Sales, Compliance, and Operations to ensure quality is embedded throughout the platform lifecycle—not treated as a final checkpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
QA Transformation & Modernization
Lead the evolution of the QA organization from primarily manual testing toward a modern quality engineering and automation-first model.
Establish long-term QA strategy, tooling, frameworks, and operational standards.
Introduce scalable automated testing practices across:
- Functional testing
- Regression testing
- API testing
- Integration testing
- Smoke and validation testing
- Balance modernization efforts while preserving critical institutional and subject matter expertise.
Test Automation Leadership
Build and expand the organization’s automated testing capabilities.
Define automation standards and coverage expectations across platform releases.
Partner with Engineering to integrate automated testing into:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Release workflows
- Production readiness processes
- Reduce manual testing dependency where appropriate while maintaining release confidence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- Product teams to understand requirements and use cases
- Engineering teams to improve testability and defect resolution
- Compliance and Operations teams to support audit and production readiness
- Promote shared accountability for quality across the organization.
Quality Metrics & Operational Visibility
Establish measurable QA KPIs and reporting frameworks, including:
- Defect trends
- Escaped defect rates
- Automation coverage
- Release quality metrics
- Provide leadership with visibility into platform quality risks and trends.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Support
Ensure testing processes support:
- Audit requirements
- Documentation standards
- Regulatory expectations
Maintain traceability between requirements, testing, and production releases.
- Support client-facing and audit-related quality discussions when necessary.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor QA team members across both:
- Manual QA functions
- Automation and quality engineering initiatives
- Help evolve team skillsets toward more technical QA capabilities.
- Foster a culture of:
- Continuous improvement
- Accountability
- Preventative quality ownership
