4 Ways to Show Your Marketing Staff You’re Thankful for Them

Thankful blog

This is a great time of year to show your friends and family how thankful you are. But don’t forget to include your staff and co-workers in that group, and especially your marketing department. After all, your marketing team is on the front lines, reaching out to potential customers, creating relationships with returning customers, and creating the foundation that your bottom line is built on. Without them, where would your business be? Show them how much you appreciate their efforts by using these four ideas:

Be Flexible Around the Holidays

The holiday season is ramping up, which means that schedules are about to be put in turmoil. Juggling the demands of friends, family, kids out of school, travel, and events on top of everything at work makes this a particularly hectic time of year. As a way of showing your thanks, let your marketing staff build some flexibility into their holiday schedules. Just because people come in a little late, go home a little early, or take an unscheduled day off doesn’t mean they won’t continue to meet your marketing objectives.

Offer Perks

Perks can come in many forms, but they are always welcome. Think of something you can do that would improve the work-life of your marketing staff right now, and hopefully moving forward into the future. That could mean getting a new coffee maker for the break room, providing breakfast pastries once a week, offering a monthly free massage, or extending the lunch hour. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive, but it should be more than just a token gesture.

Host a Meal

Bringing everyone together to break bread is a great way to show your appreciation, build team camaraderie, and boost morale all at the same time. You can take everyone out to a local restaurant, reserve a banquet hall, or have catering delivered to the office. Just make sure you pick a menu with a broad appeal, respect any dietary restrictions, and don’t schedule the occasion at a time that will create scheduling conflicts. And while you have everyone gathered, why not give a speech describing how thankful you are?

Add a Personal Touch

It’s great to thank your marketing staff as a whole, but you should strive to thank everyone individually as well. That shows that you value each contribution and makes everyone on the team feel recognized and appreciated. You could have a brief chat with each person, send out a handwritten card or note, or offer a personalized gift. Try to stay away from impersonal calls or emails.

It doesn’t take a lot of time or money to show your marketing staff how thankful you are, and it does wonders for morale, efficiency, and productivity. Discover other ways to engage your staff by working with Artemis Consultants.Artemis_CTA_RequestTalent
