Data & BI Solutions Architect

POSITION OVERVIEW:
You will be designing the architecture of BI solutions. This includes leading new and existing BI projects, including starting projects from scratch. And defining and maintaining company standards and best practices for BI projects.
- Experience in design, development of data architecture, data flows, Business Intelligence solutions leveraging latest data/technology frameworks.
- Responsible for design and storage of data in the database.
- Design and develop schema for BI solutions, system governance process and other data/BI asset management process
- Own entire process of understanding the need from various business groups, design & development of solutions with technical team, own communication and deliverable quality and govern the overall relationship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Common Skillsets:
- Lead the design and architecture of various data engineering solutions, BI capability development business value-based implementation.
- Specialize in performance tuning of ETL processes, data warehouses, data models, BI suite, model performance etc.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Guide onshore and offshore analysts to deliver the data analytic solutions within the timelines with best practices and standards
- Lead by example in prototyping new features/solutions demonstrating practical application to the team showcasing best practices and efficient data processing techniques.
Data Management Skillsets:
- Demonstrated experience with Azure platform or relevance cloud technologies to design/integrate ETL pipelines, data models for efficient BI solutions
- Should have strong grasp of advanced SQL functionalities (joins, nested query, and procedures).
- Strong ability to translate functional specifications / requirements to technical requirements
PREFERRED PROFILE:
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience (with significant experience with Insurance domain) of delivering efficient data led solutions across business functions leading collaboration with business, technology and analysts.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
- Strong and in-depth understanding of DE Fundamentals
- Excellent communication & presentation skills
- Relevant experience in data engineering, BI or predictive modeling tools like Spark/ Azure Data factory/AWS/GCP/Python, SQLServer/Snowflake and experience with other BI tools like PowerBI, Tableau etc.
- Good knowledge of data base management and SQL
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills
- Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverable with minimal or no supervision
- Good communication skill for client interaction

LOCATION: Remote in NYC, Chicago or Wisconsin (Able to be in client’s office a few times a month)
