Semrush is a trusted data provider whose information on online behavior is used by the largest media outlets around the world such as Bloomberg, The Washington Post, Reuters and others.

The Challenge

Semrush needed a VP of Public Relations who can tell their truly unique and empowering stories across product + consumer media, financial media, and lifestyle media. This person was tasked to:

  • Build a world-class public relations machine
  • Develop an annual storytelling plan to align with customer’s journeys
  • Identify new agencies with truly global reach to Tier 1, A++ media outlets
  • Secure alliances in North America, UK, EU, AsiaPac
  • Pivot on three vectors – product/consumer, financial, lifestyle features

Our Action

The new CMO had to build a new team quickly. It was important to find someone right away. They were seeking 10+ years of experience in Public Relations and/or media relations. Additionally, this person needed a broad, extensive network of contacts within Tier 1 outlets, ideally on an international level and experience in running TV shows/series.
